Language Learning Apps 

ImmerseMe is available for visitors to use via VR Goggles or a desktop computer. It is available in Spanish, French, English, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, Greek, Indonesian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Arabic (MSA), and Russian. Please inquire at the front desk.

There are other apps available online, but IMLC does not offer access or support.

• Duolingo -  Duolingo is a language learning app that encompasses reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It is free and can be used on desktops, iPhones, Androids, Windows phones. It does not offer: Arabic or Chinese
• Babbel - Babbel is app that allows you to pick which lesson to study and can be used on desktops, iPhones, and Androids. The basic lessons are free with in-app purchases available for full access. It does not offer: Arabic, Chinese or Swahili
• Busuu  - Busuu has four main features; vocabulary, dialogue, quizzes, and conversations. It uses flashcards as the primary way of teaching a new language. It can be used on desktops, iPhones, and Android. It does not offer: Swahili
• Mango Language  - Mango Languages has all the languages taught at Baylor and can be used on desktops, iPhones, and Androids. The first few lessons are free, for the upgrade you can either pay or check to see if you local library has a Mango account and get it for free. Mango focuses on practicing conversations that could be applicable in real life.
• Optilingo - OptiLingo is a language learning platform that prioritizes language acquisition through speaking. Additionally, we have a comprehensive blog that covers language learning strategies, tips, cultural notes, and of course, specific language advice to over 20 languages.
